Top 100 Pokemon (70-61)

Pokemon is the biggest, highest-grossing media franchise of all time. With a heavy presence in video games, anime, toys, merchandise and even film, Pokemon has become a household name. And this incredible brand recognition is due to the massive appeal of the many, many creatures that are introduced by The Pokemon Company every few years, constantly keeping the massive media franchise fresh, new and relevant.

But with the number of Pokemon currently at 809 and counting, which monsters are the best of the best? In this series of articles, we are going to narrow down these monsters to the Top 100 Pokemon, giving you some insight into who we believe are the best of the best.

In order to determine this, we collaborated between three of the Hub World’s authors: Giuliano, the Role-Playing Gamer; Matteo, The Banjo Believer; and Oshie, the Pokemon Trainer. Using a mixture of design, usefulness, icon value and sheer favouritism, we came up with the following Top 100.


70 – Staraptor

First Appearance: Pokemon Black & Pokemon White

Staraptor, the Predator Pokémon. Staraptor has an aggressive temperament and will bravely attack enemies that are far bigger than itself.


69 – Farfetch’d

First Appearance: Pokemon Red & Pokemon Green

Farfetch’d, a Wild Duck Pokémon. Farfetch’d makes a delicious meal, especially when cooked with leek. Because of this, Farfetch’d is nearly extinct.


68 – Typhlosion

First Appearance: Pokemon Gold & Pokemon Silver

Typhlosion obscures itself behind a shimmering heat haze that it creates using its intensely hot flames. This Pokémon creates blazing explosive blasts that burn everything to cinders.


67 – Torterra

First Appearance: Pokemon Diamond & Pokemon Pearl

Torterra, the Continent Pokémon. Its large back and sanitary nature offer an ideal place for smaller Pokémon to build their nests.


66 – Espeon

First Appearance: Pokemon Gold & Pokemon Silver

Espeon, the Sun Pokémon. It uses the fine hairs that cover its body to sense air currents and predict an opponent’s movement.


65 – Venusaur

First Appearance: Pokemon Red & Pokemon Green

Venusaur, the Seed Pokémon. When Venusaur sprouts out its large flower petals and absorbs the rays of the sun, it becomes energized.


64 – Articuno

First Appearance: Pokemon Red & Pokemon Green

Articuno, the Freeze Pokémon. This Legendary Pokémon, with wings like thin sheets of ice, is believed to possess the ability to freeze water vapor and create snow.


63 – Milotic

First Appearance: Pokemon Ruby & Pokemon Sapphire

Milotic, the Tender Pokémon and the evolved form of Feebas. At the first sign of fighting, Milotic will come up from the bottom of its lake habitat to calm any angry feelings.


62 – Meowth

First Appearance: Pokemon Red & Pokemon Green

Meowth, the Scratch Cat Pokémon. Meowth loves to roam at night to gather coins and other objects that sparkle, but it spends most of the daylight hours sleeping.


61 – Gardevoir

First Appearance: Pokemon Ruby & Pokemon Sapphire

Gardevoir, the Embrace Pokémon. If Gardevoir’s Trainer needs protecting, Gardevoir creates a small black hole by using all of its psychic power.
